Paniai Coffee, a variety of coffee grown in the Paniai region in Papua, will be showcased during the G20 events organized next July under Indonesia's G20 Presidency in Nusa Dua, Bali, a province's official stated.

Head of Papua Province's Co-operatives, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and Manpower Office Omah Laduani Ladamay spoke of having met Paniai District Head Meky Nawipa to discuss the region's readiness to facilitate the plan.

"The Papuan authority has been tasked with marketing Papuan products, which includes Papuan coffee and other main products (of the province)," Ladamay stated here on Monday.

The office head noted that cultivation methods for coffee, grown on the highlands, located at an average height of 1,300-2,000 meters above sea level, was one major factor that gave Papuan coffee its unique taste and aroma.

Local coffee farmers in Paniai have used coffee beans from the Blue Mountains region in Jamaica due to which one can get the light taste with floral aroma, mild acidity, and near-zero bitterness in every coffee sip, he explained.

"According to our estimation, we will ready one shipping container for the coffee and invite some coffee communities having the best coffee quality and quantity," he remarked.
