President Joko Widodo has involved Miss Indonesia 2022 Laksmi Shari De Neefe Suardana to promote the G20 Indonesian Presidency as well as a series of programs prior to the G20 Summit in Bali on November.

The Advisory Board of the Putri Indonesia Foundation Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani stated that President Jokowi delivered the statement upon welcoming Suardana as well as Miss Universe 2021 from India Harnaaz Shandu in addition to two other winners of the Miss Indonesia contest at the Presidential Palace here on Monday.

"Earlier, Mr. President said that for all G20 programs, especially at its Summit, Miss Indonesia will be involved, (and also) all the three selected winners as well as other finalists of their respective provinces," Wardani noted in a press statement.

Apart from Suardana and Shandu, Wardani also accompanied the two runners-up for Miss Indonesia 2022, those being Miss Indonesia 1st runner-up Cindy May MC Guire and 2nd runner-up Adinda Creshella.

President Jokowi entrusted Suardana and the finalists of the beauty contests to promote several themes of the Indonesian G20 Presidency, such as climate change, digitalization, and the rise of tourism.

"Miss Indonesia 2022 Suardana is further learning about literacy and digitalization, indeed," Wardani added.

Guire, a doctor, was tasked by the president to promote Indonesia's methods in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as several public health programs, including stunting eradication.

Creshella, on the other hand, was tasked with promoting topics covering the environment and tourism.

Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Shandu spoke of having engaged in a conversation with President Jokowi and said she was glad to know that he and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared sound relations.

"I am very honoured to meet President Jokowi and listen to the vision he has for this beautiful country of Indonesia first-hand. I am very pleased to know his close relationship with our Prime Minister Modi and happy to be in this beautiful country and to explore more. I hope I can come back here again soon," she stated.

President Jokowi was accompanied with Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno during the event.
