The National Defense Force (TNI) will utilize drones to monitor and secure routes during the G20 Summit on November 15-16 in Bali, TNI's Commander General Andika Perkasa stated.

Group 20, or G20, is a multilateral cooperation group that comprises 19 countries and the European Union (EU). Indonesia is holding the presidency of the grouping this year.

Drones are deployed, so that the TNI does not only rely on information from the field but also from the sky, he noted during the #G20Updates Press Conference streamed on YouTube on Thursday.

The TNI commander remarked that the use of drones is not only limited to the efforts to prevent security disruptions.

The TNI will also utilize drones to monitor travel routes from each delegation, specifically the heads of states.

"For instance, the arrival route of heads of states from 25 different hotels to Apurva Kempinski (the main location of G20 Summit)," he explained.

"If there is a sudden congestion in a route, we can immediately know," he remarked.

By using drones to monitor, the TNI can map out routes and direct related parties to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.

On the occasion, Perkasa also urged the public to support the preparation of the G20 Summit by providing a host of information to TNI, as it is crucial to avoid unpredictable threats.

"Information, no matter how small, may have something to do with security. This will certainly be useful for us to anticipate," he noted.

"This will be very useful, so that we can hold this G20 Presidency event smoothly," he remarked.

The TNI will leave no stone unturned to perform its duties since the success of the G20 Summit will improve the trust of the international community, specifically countries with the largest economy, to Indonesia, he remarked.
