Head of the Bali Provincial Health Service, I Nyoman Gede Anom, said that the service will conduct a simulation to test health facilities and health workers’ readiness to welcome the G20 Summit delegates in November 2022.

"We will prepare all health facilities and health workers for the G20 delegates. Starting from simulation for PCR examination, antigens at the entrance, at the hotel, then the readiness of health workers and ambulances," Anom informed in Denpasar on Saturday.

He said that the simulation is planned to be carried out on November 4 and 5 to identify any shortcomings that will need to be addressed ahead of the peak of the G20 Summit on November 15–16.

Based on established operational standards, the Bali Health Service will provide a mini ICU at every hotel and meeting location, which will be equipped with health workers, such as cardiologists, general anesthetists, and nurses.

"Meanwhile, we will also prepare four mini ICUs at the venue, namely at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel and Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park on November 15–16. There will be 23 clinics and 13 teams or ambulance units around the location that could move quickly with general practitioners, nurses, and drivers," he added.

Anom said that each head of state will bring their own health team, but his party has still prepared special ambulances for them.

He informed that until now, hundreds of competent and trained health workers have been prepared for securing health services for the G20 Summit, but their number cannot be ascertained because their preparation is still in progress.

Besides the meeting location, health workers will also be stationed at seven referral hospitals, namely, BIMC Nusa Dua Hospital, Udayana Hospital, Siloam Hospital, Bali Mandara Hospital, Prof. Ngoerah Hospital, Bhayangkara Hospital, and Udayana University Hospital, he disclosed.

"For bed readiness, there are 1,350 beds, 92 ICUs, including 217 beds for COVID-19, and 99 isolation rooms," he said.
